I guess no one would have the interest to read this but I am so tired and I can't get to bed, because it is too early, so I feel like I have to write this and change the previous journal entry.
I just got back from small 3 days trip to East Rhodope mountains. Rhodope are the lowest but widest mountain range in Bulgaria. Well known with its ancient Thracian and Roman cultural/historical remains, the East Rhodope are destination for many photographers in this time of year. Having no car or buddy to get their I though I would skip this fall the colorful landscapes the mountain could offer me. But then photographer I know from Panoramio called me and after a lot of changing plans we went on a photo trip. I though it would be hiking photo trekking but it was more like road-tripping photo-trekking. It was new to me. I saw many places, traveled on non-existing roads, slept in a tent for first time in my life (may be fall was not the best season to try it...)....
And if I said to somebody that there isn't wild life in Bulgaria, believe me it was a LIE!... I saw a doe with its fawn staying in not more than 5m away, many birds I don't know their names. Some small creature ate my soap. Some animal "peed" on my tent and pooped around it... I'm not sure if it was the same buddy who was so curies about the tent and walked around it like all night long. We witnessed with our ears how, probably wild cat, got caught and killed by something else (on the meadow above us). We heard strange growl in the middle of the night coming from the very same place where "the cat" was killed. When I walked out of the tent I saw black contour up there.... I don't want to name it... but few moments letter it disappeared. Might be just my imagination... who knows.
On the same morning we woke up at 5. It was beautiful clear morning. We packed our things and waited for the magic light moment to come but the thick fog covered the area. We waited for 5 hours the fog to go disappear and meanwhile I looked for the best position to take my shots and be ready. And I found it... on a steep broken stone slope... After climbing it with my gear I lost balance pulling my camera and... voila, more than 11m rolling-stones action ending bad for me and my wide lens... Luckily, the front lens is not broken, just a "bit" scratched .. (if U can call that lucky)... About me, I will survive.
Weather got really bad and we traveled back home. I think I have some good photos and I will upload some of them here and post the story into my photo-blog soon, when the time comes.
